GEORGIA PROBLEM-SOLVING BOWL

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Georgia Problem-Solving Bowl is a one-day activity designed to assist high school students with developing research and writing skills in science. Sponsored by the Georgia Junior Academy of Science, the Bowl attracts up to 80 students per year from across the state.  

The Competition

Teams of 3 students use library and Internet resources to propose solutions to a single scientific question within a 3-hour frame.  GC&SU faculty evaluated the reports submitted.

The activity is directed by Terri George, science coordinator at Henry County Schools, and coordinated at GC&SU by Dr. Douglas Pohl, Professor of Chemistry.
